We provide payment infrastructure, file hosting, watermarking, and content moderation — so authors can focus on creating, and readers get access to quality work at a fair price.
Our position: marketplace, not publisher
bookshelfcorner.com is a technology marketplace connecting authors and readers. We do not publish, edit, or modify content. All works appearing on bookshelfcorner.com are owned by and the responsibility of their respective authors.
Authors grant us a limited non-exclusive license solely for: storing files, displaying previews, processing payments, applying watermarks, and distributing to legitimate buyers. Copyright remains 100% with the author.
Who is it for?
- Readers — anyone who wants to access ebooks without a subscription, pay once via PayPal, and download immediately with a personal watermark.
- Authors — independent authors, academics, content creators, and professionals who have digital works but do not want to or cannot go through a traditional publisher.
What sets us apart
- Global payments — PayPal with credit/debit card (Visa, Mastercard, Amex). Simple and available worldwide.
- Personal watermark — every purchased PDF has a watermark with the buyer's name & email on every page. Anti-piracy, but buyers can still read offline, print, and save permanently.
- Fair commission — authors receive 70% of the gross price, affiliates 10%, platform 20%. Royalties are paid every 5th of the month.
- Human moderation — every book is reviewed by admin before going live, to ensure no piracy, illegal content, or plagiarism.
- Transparent — fees, commissions, payout schedule — all documented at the commission page.
Our values
- Respect copyright. Pirated content will be removed and accounts suspended. Rights holders who believe their work has been pirated can report via the help center.
- Financial transparency. Authors see all their book purchases in real-time. No hidden deductions.
- Buyer privacy. Purchase data & buyer identity are not shared with authors. The personal watermark only appears in the buyer's file, not publicly.
- Responsible content. Content is moderated and does not accept adult, hateful, or discriminatory material.
